Your signature makes you financially responsible. Your teen practices 50 hours (10 at night) with you or another licensed driver 25+, after the instructor validates the permit; you sign to certify. Cover city, freeway, night and bad weather before the test. First year: no driving 11 p.m. to 5 a.m., no passengers under 20 unless you or another licensed driver 25+ rides along. No phone until 18. You can cancel the license at any time.
